AW Pneumatic ActuatorOverview

The AW series pneumatic actuator is a heavy-duty rotary execution unit specifically designed for high-torque applications, such as large-diameter ball valves, butterfly valves, and dampers. It utilizes a scotch-yoke (fork-type) transmission mechanism to convert the linear motion of the piston into high-torque rotational motion. The core characteristic of the scotch-yoke design is its ability to output maximum torque at both the start and end positions of the stroke, which perfectly matches the seating and unseating requirements of rotary valves. Available in both double-acting and spring-return (single-acting) configurations, the AW series is widely used in petroleum, chemical, power generation, and offshore engineering for reliable and high-frequency automated control.

1.High torque scotch-yoke mechanism:The fork-style transmission provides an optimized torque curve, delivering peak power where it is needed most during valve opening and closing, ensuring stable operation under high pressure drops.
2.Robust and durable construction:The body is typically made of high-strength cast iron or carbon steel, with an internal cylinder wall that is precision-ground and hard-plated. This ensures low friction and exceptional wear resistance for long-term service.
3.Modular and flexible design:The cylinder and spring modules are independent and interchangeable. This allowed for easy field conversion between double-acting and single-acting modes or torque adjustments to suit various load requirements.
4.Excellent sealing and protection:Utilizes high-quality imported seals to ensure zero air leakage and smooth piston movement. The housing is rated at IP67 or above, providing superior protection in harsh, corrosive, or humid industrial environments.
5.Precise stroke adjustment:Equipped with external adjustable limit bolts on both ends of the actuator, allowing for accurate ±5° adjustment of the open and closed positions to ensure precise valve alignment.
6.Intrinsically safe and explosion-proof:Operates entirely on compressed air without electrical spark risks. It is suitable for high-risk hazardous zones and can be easily integrated with solenoid valves, limit switches, and positioners.
7.Safe spring-return system:In single-acting models, high-performance springs are pre-compressed within a safety cartridge, preventing accidental discharge during maintenance and ensuring a reliable fail-safe position upon air loss.
8.Low maintenance and long life:The transmission parts are treated with self-lubricating materials or pre-filled with long-life grease. The simple mechanical structure reduces the frequency of component replacement and lowers lifecycle costs.
