Working Principle
Pressure is transmitted through the hydraulic conduit, enabling the main valve slide plate (disc) to mimic the action of the pilot valve. When the upstream pressure is lower than the pilot valve's set value, the pilot valve closes, and the upstream pressure acts on top of the diaphragm to keep the main valve closed. Once the upstream pressure rises above the pilot valve's set pressure, the pilot valve opens to discharge the pressure water above the diaphragm, the main valve opens for massive water discharge, and it closes slowly and smoothly only after the pressure drops to the set value, without secondary water hammer.
